Hungry Alien's mission is to engage and entertain while inspiring people to consider choosing more ethical brands to support through the content we create. Founded by husband-wife duo Vin Nucatola and Mary Ortega, Hungry Alien aims to crush conventional wisdom around vegan foods & sustainable products.
Meet The Team
Vin Nucatola - Creative Director / Director
Vin is an award winning writer/director/producer with over 13 years experience working in Film, TV, Digital, Commercials, & Branded Content. Originally from Staten Island, he moved to LA and got his start working as PA & Writers Assistant on the hit FX series JUSTIFIED and then acclaimed series MAD MEN before moving on to produce and direct short films, music videos, & commercials. In 2015, he became the first full-time Video Producer at Thrillist and in less than a year at the company, produced the viral video "Old Man Strength" for Smith & Forge Hard Cider. The video has amassed over 200 million organic views on Facebook and Youtube combined making it the 2nd most viewed sponsored video online in the first 24 hours of its release of all time, and a top10 most viewed (of any) video online in the first 24 hours (as of 2019). Since then, he's continued to tell diverse and inclusive stories for major brands through video in over 35 cities domestically and abroad.

Mary Ortega - Producer
Mary is an LA native and animal lover currently living in NY with over 7 years experience in the entertainment industry. She's had the privilege to work in many aspects of the industry from producing and writing to hair & make-up (including special FX) and modeling. She has experience in all types of industries including travel content as a Field Producer as well as food & drink content as a Producer, Stylist, and Model. She also has a passion for narrative storytelling and has produced several independent short films that have screened at film festivals across the country including the romantic dark comedy Jeep Date, suspense thriller Stuck, satirical comedy Italian Turtles, and the dramedy based on a true story, Take Care.
Vin and Mary met in 2013 while working in the same building on the Manhattan Beach Studios lot. They moved to NY in 2015 and got married in 2021. They currently live in Staten Island, NY with their two rescue Cats Dexter & Will Feral, and rescue dog Chewie. And in May 2022, they welcomed their son Vincent David to the world -- their greatest production yet. When they're not creating content, you can find Vin and Mary exploring the city in search of new plant-based restaurants, and volunteering at the Barnyard Sanctuary in Columbia, NJ on the weekends.
